I like to chronicle our family life through scrapbooking. I have seen other's with their paper scrapbooks and I can't go into Hobby Lobby or Michael's without stopping by the scrapbooking isles and marveling over the assortment of items. I even buy them from time to time. If I have a wedding shower or baby shower, I often buy scrapbook page frames and create a one-of-a-kind gift for the person using commercial scrapbooking products.

I was talking to my sister one day (my hero) about all her gadgets, papers, and embellishments. They had kind of taken over her house. I said, "I hate paper." I wondered if we could do some of our scrapbooks digitally. That was it. She shared her favorite digital store with me and I began my life as a digital scrapbooker. Here is a link to my first digital scrapbook: http://ourfamily123.net/lauren.html. My sister, Lisa, is amazing. She designed this webpage. (I'm kind of behind in posting my pages) You can also look at her books by going to the home page.

I have hundreds of digital photos. I take my very favorites and use them in these pages. I have a wonderful digital camera my husband, Tony, bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago that I use. I also use my camera phone as I have it with me everywhere. There is not an event I go to that I am not taking at least a picture or two. I even took pictures with waterproof cameras at Schiltterbahn. I ask for the pictures on a cd so that I can use them digitally. I also have a scanner that I scan old photos with so that I can use them too. The My Pictures folder in my computer is now the biggest folder in My Documents. It contains sub folders like you wouldn't believe. I try and categorize my digitals by date so that I can find things when I want them. Photoshop Elements even organizes your photos for you.

This is my first post for beginning digital scrapbookers. Our computers have become so much more than work tools for us. To be sure we use them for work, homework, bills, etc. but more and more we are using them to fill our leisure time. Many of you blog, use Facebook and other social media. We have phones that take these things on the go too.

I want to introduce you to the world of capturing memories using digital photos and putting them together in ways to make priceless keepsakes. You may be saying, "I prefer real photographs." That's okay too because you will be able to upload your pages to a digital photo service, have them printed and sent to you. In our time together I can share with you products and services I use or have used to make sure you are happy with your work and how you want to store it.

Soooooo, if you're interested in being my Photoshop Buddy, follow my blog. You can go as fast or as slow as you want to and remember, questions are welcome. No question is to small or dumb. Ask me!

I just finished making Brown Sugar & Spice. I am often inspired by things I see and things people say. I was truly inspired to create this set by it's color scheme. It seems that brown is the new black and it couldn't look better with pink! This set includes 12 papers and 39 elements.

Hey there....I'm up this morning working on my personal scrapbook. I've been a little under the weather this week and haven't even touched my computer since last weekend. I'm feeling better and have lots of plans for the next 2 days. I still haven't completed Noisy Boys. Actually, I hated what I did and deleted the whole thing and started over. I'm liking it much better now. I will post it soon.

Enchilada Soup

Okay, I have made the first official page of the 2010 scrapbook. This page has some journaling on it, but before my mom and step-dad left Lubbock for the Show Me State, we got together for the last family gathering. Mother and Jim had this enchilada soup at Jim's daughter's (DeeDee) house. It was so good Mother wanted to try and make it for us. That day, they were getting a sleep number mattress put in their home on wheels. Apparently Mother has been having trouble sleeping. Anyway they had to do all kinds of rigging to get it installed and then the control on one side did not work! What a pain. We still had to go to the grocery store to pick up supplies but Mother left her purse at the trailer. We picked it up then forgot the chicken she had pre-cooked. Finally we made it to Wal Mart for groceries then out to Lisa's to cook. It was all worth it because it was YUMMY!

I used the page sets, Home Sweet Home and Football Party. I didn't particulary like Home Sweet Home after I made it, but it looks rather good here. Just goes to show you that you can never tell what is going to look good until you get going.

Good Morning

It's Sunday morning. I love Sunday mornings. I should be getting ready for church but we haven't yet picked a church home since we moved back to Lubbock. So, I spend my weekend mornings drinking coffee and working on digital designs. As I am waking up, I am thinking about what I am going to do next. Today, I am working on a set called Noisy Boys.

Yesterday, I woke up to a houseful of boys. My 12 year old had friends spend the night. They had a great time. It seems we always have kids over here. They probably wonder what I am doing on the computer all the time. Anyway, I am taking this morning's inspiration from them!
